The Old Post Office, in the heart of the historic market town of Wallingford, is our exciting modern interpretation of an original Public House….a warm and friendly meeting place, serving great food and drink all day to local people, businesses, families and visitors.

Sitting near the Thames, this old post office has been lovingly restored to combine comfort, atmosphere and style. A traditional bar, with intimate seating, merges into a huge light contemporary restaurant area with a courtyard garden.

Join us for breakfast, morning coffee or tea. Enjoy our Mediterranean inspired lunches or dinners, many featuring food grilled in our charcoal fuelled Josper oven. Our bar is open all day, with an extensive wine list, beers, real ales and cocktails.

The 14-acre vineyard is situated 1 mile north of Wallingford and 8 miles south of the city of Oxford abutting the south side of the River Thames in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and produces white, rosé, red and sparkling wines.

Wines sales and tastings are available from Brightwell Vineyard’s on-site Wine Shop, open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday 12 – 6pm, and at other times by arrangement. Group wine tastings and vineyard tours are available by appointment.

We are are always delighted to extend a design and sampling consultation to de-stress your celebration plans, we can discuss ideas, themes & flavours over some truly delicious cupcakes – and then set up and deliver for your local event  – or arrange to deliver to events further afield.

Situated in the market town of Wallingford in Oxfordshire, Pettits was established on 6th March 1856 by Mr William Pettit who came from Newmarket, where his father was a saddle maker.

One of the largest and oldest businesses in Wallingford, the store remained in the Pettit family until 1987 when it was sold to the Rowse family, another local family firm well known for it’s honey production.

Pettits is the only department store remaining in Wallingford with over 20 departments covering three floors.

The LateChef is a new local business providing quality home cooked food made from quality local produce. All delivered direct to your door!

The use of local ingredients means fresher tasting and quality food which also benefits the environment and economy. In these days of issues such as “food miles”, understanding where and how our food is sourced and its impact on the environment are important to us all.

All dishes are free of additives and preservatives, only natural ingredients are used.

Having a local chef providing a range of quality dishes and good service is a great asset!
